The Parker SMB series servo motor, such as the SMB60451,4592I652, is a permanent magnet synchronous servomotor designed for high dynamic performance with low rotor inertia. It features a rotor with surface rare earth magnets and an 8-pole design, offering power ranges from 0.1 to 9.4 kW and torque ranges from 0.19 to 60 Nm. The speed range of SMB motors can reach up to 7500 rpm. These motors come with a flange mounting with smooth holes and a plain keyed or smooth shaft end. Cooling is achieved through natural ventilation, and they provide protection levels of IP64 or IP65 (the latter being standard for larger frame sizes). Feedback options include resolvers, absolute Endat or Hiperface, and incremental encoders, with thermal protection components like PTC sensors integrated. Additional options for SMB motors include brakes, second shafts, and increased inertia variants. These motors are widely used in applications such as packaging machines, robotics, factory automation, textile machinery, and automotive industries. Parker offers customized winding voltages and multiple connection options to tailor the motor for specific needs.
